Bhutan Visa Information

Entry visa with a Valid password are essential except for Indian and Bangladeshi National.Permission is given to the travellers who are members of a commercially organized tour group.Travel Agents are there to help organize a group or it can be done directly too.

NOTE: Visas cannot be obtained at Bhutanese Embassies.

On arrival,three copies of original passport size photograph are required.Visa fee includes US$ 20 and Us$ 10, which must be paid as Tourism development.Visa can be extended with an additional fee of Us$ 15.

Bhutan Entry Procedure

Visitors must travel through an authorized local operator on a pre-paid pre-planned,guided package tour.Independent traveller is prohibited strictly.The Government stipulates an all inclusive entry fee per day.Concerned travel agent’s operator is responsible for all your arrangement during stay in bhutan.

Airlines of Bhutan

The only airlines,Druk Air,the Royal Airlines operates you in and out of Bhutan.It flies daily and connects to the airport in Paro district in Bangladesh.Then, from Bankok passing Delhi Kolkotta and Nepal and ends landing in Dhaka(Bangladesh).In Winter,Druk Air also makes special flight to Bodhya,India.The airlines also operates two British Aerospace 114-seater jet planes which has a seating capacity of 72 person.

Arriving / Departure by Land

Tourist can entry through the land of Phuentsholing,on the souuthwestern border with India.Its the only entrance.In the condition of prior arrangement,it ill be possible to exit through the town of Samdpup Jongkhar in the southeast region,which makes traveller easy entrance point to northeastren India.

There are two ways to travel through Bhutan while going around the country,by foot or car,if trekking.There is a well maintained network of motorable road across the country.Tour vehicles are Buses,Vans and Cars.
