A very much scattered clusters of inhabitants are settled in Bhutan, the first record was taken about 1,400 years ago. The high population of Bhutan is from Drukpa. In drukpa,there are three main ethnic group,the Ngalops,Sharchops and the Lhotsampas. Lhotsampas are  of Nepaelese origin. These three groups makes Drukpa population. The oldest residents of Bhutan are Sharchops. The origin of Sharchops can be traced from the people of northen Burma and northeast India. The Ngalops are among those who migrated from Tibet’s plain regions and are the followers and importers of Buddhism to the Kingdom. As for the Lhotsampas, their migrated toward the southern plains  in search of work and agicultural land in 20th century.

The official language used in Bhutan is Dzongkha.There have never been a rigid class system in Bhutan.The rank and the birth do not affects the social and educational oppurtunities.There is no discrimination between men and women in Bhutan as women enjoy equal rights with men in every field. Bhutanese people  still wear the traditional clothes that have never been worn for decades to keep the traditional culture alive.Bhutanese men wear a \"gho\",a long robe tied around the waist. Most of the women wear anlkle length dress known as Kira, made of woven fabrics and coloured beautifully. Carols,pearls turquoise and the most precious ‘zee’ stones are mostly used to make a necklace.

People of Bhutan have always been following the Buddhist religion.The faith of Buddhism plays a great role in changing the cultural ethical and sociological development of Bhutan and its peoples. In each district,annual festivals are spiritual occasions.Prayer flags allow Bhutanese people to maintain constant communication with the heavens.
