The asphalt Qinghai-Tibet Highway: This highway from Qinghai’s Xining to Lhasa is a fantastic ride if you are a nature lover. Passing through the Qinghai Lake (china’s largest salt water lake), Kunlun mountains, the Tuotuo River (upper tributary of the Yangtze River) and the hot springs of Yangbajain this trip will cost you about 30 hours of your time and 150 (for hard seat) or 210 (for sleeper)Yuan.
The Sichuan-Tibet Highway:A ride on this highway can be anyone’s lifetime experience. Travelers will be able to experience four types’ seasons in a single day. There might be snowing in the top of the mountain, the same road goes through a warm mountain foot, the roads in the plateaus will be windy and rough and in the rainy seasons there will be some showering too. This is fantastic road if you want to have fun but you have to put aside a few days in this track. Sometime the road might be blocked and you will have to wait for a while. The road passes through Mount Erlang, Luding Bridge, Kangding, the Jingsha River, Rawu Lake, Tangmai (known as the \"black spot for mudslides\"), and Nyingchi where one can experience four seasons in a day. This road trip will cost you about 525 Yuan.
The Xinjiang-Tibet Highway: This high way from Yecheng to Lhasa has the highest altitude among the roadways in to Tibet. Passing the uninhabited lands this is a perfect route for those who want to witness the untouched nature and wild life. The scenery of Tibetan donkeys and Mongolian Gazelles galloping on the roof of the world is breath taking. This high way also passes through the remains of ancient Guge kingdom, the Kangrinboqe Mountain and the Sagya monastery, which is considered the origin of the Variegated Sect.
Kathmandu-Lhasa highway: This is one of very famous road way in to Tibet. It offers a glorious natural beauty of the Nepalese country side and enters china through the Friendship Bridge (Nepalese- Miteri Pool) and reaches to the Nyalam country in Tibet. Passing Tingri, Xingatse (the second largest city in Tibet), Gyangze the road hits the Lhasa.
